ABOUT OUR CLINIC
Established in 2022, Milton Eye Surgeons (MES) was founded by Dr. Aaron Chan with the mission of providing the Town of Milton with access to a local, specialized eye surgeon. As the population of Ontario continues to age, the demand for eye care in Halton has significantly increased. In response, we recognized the need to expand both our team and facility to meet this growing demand. In 2024, MES enhanced its services with the addition of corneal and external disease expertise through Dr. Nour Nofal. Looking ahead to 2025, we are excited to announce the launch of our sister company, Halton Retina Centre, in collaboration with Dr. Shaobo Lei, to offer vitreo-retinal services to the region.
MEET OUR DOCTORS
Dr. Aaron Chan MD FRCSC
is a comprehensive cataract surgeon with a special interest in medical retina. He completed both his medical degree and ophthalmology residency at the University of Toronto. He is now committed to seeing Milton, Georgetown, and Halton region patients in a timely and accessible manner. Dr. Chan continues to serve patients from two convenient locations: Milton Eye Surgeons and the Eye Clinic at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Nour Nofal MD FRCSC
is a cornea transplant, refractive, and complex anterior segment surgeon. Dr. Nofal completed her medical degree at the Universite de Montreal, Ophthalmology Residency at McGill University, and Corneal Fellowship at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. Dr. Nofal specializes in corneal diseases of the eye including keratoconus and endothelial diseases requiring corneal transplantation. She is a staff ophthalmologist at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, where she performs the majority of her surgeries.
Dr. Shaobo Lei MD MSc PhD FRCSC
is a dual-residency trained vitreo-retinal surgeon. Dr. Lei completed his residency and vitreo-retinal surgical fellowship at the University of Toronto. He has expertise in retinal detachment, macular hole and vitreo-macular interface repair. He is also a medical retinal expert and has a special interest in neuro-ophthalmology. He is excited to bring his family and services to the Halton region and he will maintain active staff privileges at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital.
Due to the volume of referrals, we are no longer accommodating referrals for eyelid malposition, epiphora, or oculoplastic-related issues. We will continue to see pediatrics in a local capacity.
